People often come to therapy as a last resort: they've tried everything they can think of, and nothing has worked. Often they are beating themselves up for not being able to solve their problems on their own, while feeling frustrated, sad, anxious, stuck, and so on.

I offer a safe, confidential place to get help
and relief from these problems.

Most if not all of my clients tell me they feel safe with me, and sense that I care about them and want to help them get better. My goal is for you to feel safety, trust, and sense that I "get" what's going on and can help you find relief.

My areas of expertise include (but are not limited to):

  • Trauma
  • Anxiety
  • Depression
  • Problems related to drugs and alcohol
  • Sex addiction
  • Love addiction
  • Families, partners or children of alcoholics
  • Co-dependence

I never follow a cookie-cutter approach to psychotherapy, since each person is different and has different needs. I work collaboratively with you to find solutions, with the goal of helping you to become "expert" on, and get control of your life. Of course, that's usually not how people are feeling when they first come to therapy! But I deeply believe that within all of us is an intuitive wisdom that speaks truth to us once we learn, over time, to listen to it. That inner voice, to paraphrase Carl Jung, is our greatest gift: all of us are born with it, and can uncover whatever blocks us from hearing and listening deeply.

My goal is to help you uncover those blocks by helping you let go, a little at a time. Many people report that, once they begin to hear that voice, they feel they are home, in an emotional and psychological sense. Psychotherapy is, in a way, the journey home: the safe and peaceful home we've always wanted, but maybe never had.
